Question Radiator leaking coolant.

Not long after fixing my trans fluid leak I noticed my car has been slowly losing coolant. I took a peak underneath the car and found that its coming from the radiator itself. I'm thinking of buying stop leak for it first to see if that works but I might end up just replacing the radiator all together. My question is should I buy the stock radiator or buy an aftermarket high performance radiator? I plan on heavily modifying my PT GT and wonders if a high performance radiator would benefit my car or should I just stick with the stock radiator?

Stock replacement will suffice; even heavy modding won't require a bigger radiator. There were some heavy, heavy, modded PT's and all stuck with their stock radiator.

If you do a simple google search, you'll find my complete walk-through with pictures on how to replace the radiator. Done it several times so I'm very familiar with it if you've got any questions.

Unless you plan on rebuilding the engine, i'd say stay clear of the stop leak stuff. It worked good in the old days but today you run the risk of blocking up the water passages. A GT radiator from Radiators4less was $89 shipped to my door in 2 days.
BTW, i was lucky. I DID use the Barrsleak without issue so far. But it was before i read a few horror stories of blocked water passages.
Either way, GL with your decision

My stock radiator has gone on for nine years with no leaks. Of course, I used HOAT coolant--although I waited 7 years to change it.

Still, no leaks--and it cools the engine.

Now ... the fan is another issue ....

Yea my radiator is the original radiator on my PT which now has 74,500 miles on it. 4,000 miles on the new rebuilt motor and 2,000 miles on the rebuilt turbo. Haven't had any issues with the fan tho. Thank god lol
