How about some more information? Battery condition, putting out a full 12V? What's the fuel pressure at the Schrader valve? Should be between 53 and 63 psi. What gap are you using on your plugs?

The fuel grade makes a difference too sometimes... There's a reason the chunky octane the Iranians are selling under the table isn't very popular here in Canada.

Also, turn key to "on" before start and leave it there for a minute, then go to start - gives the fuel pump a chance to pressurize the system.

Had the same issue intermittantly on my 2007 non turbo. My battery was wearing out. No lights or chimes but when i checked it with a voltmeter, it got down to 11.9V after sitting for a few hours (even when disconnected from the vehicle).
New battery, no more long crank.

Get it running "jump it if you need to" then check the battery with a DVOM, it should be putting out at least 13 volts. If it is then your charging system should be OK.

If so then it's probably the "battery cables" !

As to running crappy hook up a vacuum gauge to get an idea on engine condition. You can do a You Tube search to see how to read one, they hook up to manifold vacuum.
