Default high idle after fuel additive

Put some redex fuel additive in my 2003 pt cruiser when I last filled up with fuel. Towards the end of the tank it developed a high idle 900 - 1000 (also slow to drop). No engine code when checked. No faults on vacuum pipes so changed idle air control valve and cleaned throttle body but problem continues. Car was running fine before additive. I wonder if it has damaged the upper O2 sensor but not enough to trigger fault code.

Any ideas as at a loss.

Not familiar with the product you are using?
Many fuel additives can make the engine run slightly richer. Also some may coat the 02 sensor. The bottle should say if it is sensor safe or not?
Either way if filling the tank which dilutes the effects does not cure your problem then it may something else and only coincident related to time of the additive use.

Try oiling the pivot points of the throttle linkage and check the cables to see they are working free. Lastly I would check the vacuum lines. I'm no sure if this would cause a code. One more thing if all else fails remove the inlet hose on the throttle body and inspect the blade is closing all the way.

Is this how you get more "likes" count up by posting the same thing twice?

I think its a coincidence.
You could probably put a gallon of jet fuel in it and not raise the idle 100rpms.

Wow this has to be the quickest "I got a problem, I'll replace a part" post I have ever seen! That's going to be a real expensive way to maintain a vehicle!

Welcome aboard new guy!
