Default possible purchase but need help!

I am thinking of purchasing a pt cruiser, but there is an issue. Here is what the ad said

"were selling it because there something wrong with the lower front of the engine. we went through it
and still cannt figure it out and just dont want to put more money in it. We just put all new parts in about a month ago. it feels like it dont get no power.
Its all inspected until next year. It has 194,000 miles on. she runs good went it gets going. if anyone intersted please email
me. i have pictures of it."

Is this a bad purchase, or a some what easy fix. I love PT Cruisers, and am in desperate need of a vehicle right now...guidance please!!!!!!!!!

Unless your good at tinkering with engines, one that has 194K and having problems might be more than you bargain for. Plenty of PTs out there for the choosing.

Well I love our PT but...if your in despite need of a "reliable" vehicle any vehicle with 196,000 miles that "don't get no power" is "not" the way to go!

At the minimum it would most likely need a Timing belt job, unless that's among the "new part"?

If you were looking for a "project ' then see if the price is right but other wise it sounds like you need to keep looking. Sorry!

Don't buy a Daewoo Nubria either unless you have a big wallet!

This would probably not be an easy fix and if you are in desperate need of a vehicle now I'd pass on this one.
