Default Transmission Control Solonoid vs TCM

I wonder if anyone has any answers to the following:

Does the Transmission Control Solonoid (TCS) retain any memory?

If so, when one replaces it, will there be a conflict between the new TCS and the TCM.

If the TCS does not remember then why do we have to retrain the car after replacing the TCS?

After replacing the ECM in my 2001, the gas milage dropped which leads me to ask, with the updates that they put into the rebuild ECM, would one be better off replacing both the ECM and the TCM at the same time so that any updates won't conflict, both rebuild units would have the updates?

Is the advertising that they will put updates into the rebuild units real or an urben legend?
