Default Engine light flashing

Got off work late and was in the low 30's, went to start 04 PT cruiser and wouldn't start, engine was turning over good the battery was not sounding low charge, but not starting. I waited a few minutes and then started, driving home the check engine light was flashing and it started missing if I gave gas such RPM over 2000+. Got home ok at idle sounded like missing but smooth out when I gave gas, Ishut off engine and restarted to see if it would start, yes and then no misses but light still on.,, I did replace cam senor about 3,000 mile ago,, could it be going out again? or something else?
Hope to hear from someone......

did you replace the cam sensor with a genuine mopar? if not, chances are you need a new one. pt's don't like non chrysler sensors.

First, did you do the key dance to see if there where any fault codes stored in the computer?

How to retrieve fault codes.

Second, I know you wanted to get home but when the engine light flashes, it's not a good sign. Staying lit means there's a fault code stored in the computer. The light flashes to alert to serious conditions that could lead to immediate loss of power or severe CAT damage. The vehicle should be serviced ASAP if this occurs.

That's from the Owners Manual.

You have a evap code miss code oil sensor code and a crank sensor code. Replace the oil sensor. These go bad. Check you vacuum lines start with the big ones first. Has any body been under the hood doing any work or anything? This could be some of the evap stuff. Also may be causing the miss. Just have to address one thing at a time.

Stop starting your engine. A flashing check enging light, and an oil light can both be very serious. Follow the advice you're being given.

Hopefully this is just a case of a couple bad sensors, but if not, you could be doing serious damage to your engine. Don't start it until you know what the problem is.

Never run an engine with the check engine light flashing, and certainly not when the oil light is on, unless you know for sure that there is adequate oil pressure.
