Default Looking for a quiet muffler (non-turbo).

What choices do I have for a decent muffler for our n/a PT? Prefer something quiet like the stock unit, probably aftermarket, as I'm sure the Mopar is too pricey (checked, it's $268 )

Here and at PTCrew, post that you're looking for a turbo muffler.
It fits, it's only a little louder, and flows better.
People who put on another exhaust ought to let you have original cheap.
(But I threw mine out...)

i have had good luck with the walker brand at vatozone. $64

they also have a stainless steel walker muffler for $116 if you live somewhere salty or want it to shine.

Made a few more calls. It looks like we may try a Walker "Quiet Flow" ($116 @ O'Reillys). Cruiszr, I'm in NC.

Best bet is to simply go to Youtube and listen for a sound you like, either on a PT Cruiser or another 4-cylinder. Problem is that muffler recommendations are very, very subjective. So what's 'quiet' to one person may be way too loud for another.. if you catch my drift.

Exclamation Re: Looking for a quiet muffler (non-turbo).

I am 40 and I have a gutted cat and gutted long pipe muffler with 3 inch pipes and it is loud! That wouldn't work with you though being an na.

Get a flow master or something, they are cheap

As they say, If its too loud, you're too old
