Default loud noise from front end...cooling fan?

Hey guys, upon start up my 05 N/A PT has a lot of noise coming from around the rad/fan, should the cooling fan start up upon initial start up in high speed? that is what i am guessing it is...could anyone be able to help me with this one?

Describe the noise. Belts are the most common start up noise. I your defrost is on I believe it starts up as soon as you start the car.

I believe if your A/C is on, engine fan will come on, and if you have setting on defrost, A/C will come on.
Turn fan speed knob to 0 and see if sound changes.
Also, if you stick your hand behind the shroud and your hand gets chopped up, the engine fan is on....
glendabarnes and zamfir2 like this.
