Default Stock PT block

I have a 2001 PT Cruiser the 1.8 block, and i was wondering how much power can be made out of a stock engine block with stock internals. I know its not much and FWD cars shouldn't have a lot of HP anyway, just curious.

The only block we have here in the U.S. is the 2.4 ltr making 150hp. Where are you located that you have the 1.8 ltr and what does it put out now?

I'm in the U.S. Michigan to be exact, I could've swore i had the 1.8 block. I've never had it on a dyno or anything, but stock it's supposed to make 150hp at 5200RPM. I just looked it up though i probably have the 2.0 block.

Yep like all the above said 2.4 is the correct size. There is not much to raise HP on the n/a. A K&N drop in air filter might get you a couple HP. Other than that you are about all you can do without speeding mega bucks. The GTs will be a option for upgrade, for more HP. Post some pics and introduce your self in the new members section.
