Default temp guage

Just replaced my cooling and it works as it should. My problem is that the temp gauge doesnt work now.The scanner says the temp is 260 degrees. replaced the temp sensor already but is still the same. Anyone have any ideas what to check next?

It sounds like the wire from the sensor is worn/burnt and making contact to ground, or it is an open circuit. Not sure which way Chrysler works. I think circuit to ground is hot, open circuit would show -40. If I'm wrong it is the opposite.

Check continuity between the PCM and the coolant sensor. Check both the reference and return circuit. If the wires are good, it could be a PCM problem.
