Default Miles on a tank?

I have a 02 cruiser, my first. Just for it a few days ago and was wanting to know how many mile on a tank of gas is normal? I filled it up when I got it. I drove 265 miles and the gas light came on is that normal?

I have an '06 Base with the 5-speed. I can get between 330-380 on a tank, depending on what kind of driving i'm doing.

In my experience that's not bad.

It depends on how far you drain it down. When you get that first "ding" and the light, you should have about 3 gallons left to go. You can go a long way on 3 gallons. When the light starts flashing, you're down to your last gallon. I think that's true also of the '06 and newer or it should be.

Many owners like to fill up at 1/4 tank on the gauge because it's believed that helps keep the fuel pump from overheating and otherwise getting stressed.

I just figured with most sites saying that they get a average of 20 mpg that I would get more miles out of a tank.

A lot depends on the pump shut-off, also. If you pump 'till you see gas in the filler neck, you can go further....

265 is close to the furthest I've gone on a tank. Check your tire pressures regularly. 3lbs under average on all four of mine gave me 180 miles to a tank, it was not fun having to fill up every four days.

really its not about a tank of gas its all about HOW MANY GALLONS IN THAT TANK
I get 21-23 mpg so with 10 gallons i can go 210 miles but with 15 galolons i can go 315
how empty to how full makes all the diffrence
265 Devided by 13 =20.38 mpg

300 is the most I have ever gotten, with very conservative freeway driving.
24mpg is where my auto/turbo lite tops out.
