Aluminum Intake Manifold Pic Request

yea but it's for the turbo models and wouldn't work with an 01-02. it might work if your car is newer and non-egr

03 and newer i believe

nothing wrong with the plastic intake though. lighter weight and no heat soak. why do you want a metal one?

You probably just never realized all the plastic under the hoods of other cars. My 99 Pontiac Grand Prix GT had the plastic manifold along with a bunch more plastic.

The aluminum intake mani that was used on the '03 and '04 turbo engines was a stop gap measure for the lower volume sales turbo editions. They did look nice and could be painted or polished but they were heavy, tended to ooze an oily stain where the upper half joins the lower half, weren't as smooth as the plastic/composit inside and didn't supply an even air charge across the 4 cyclinders. The difference in air flow between the #1 cyclinder and the #4 was about 10%. The newer plastic/composit intake corrected all that and added as much as 10hp. Add in the lighter weight and resistence to heat soak and It's no surprise why so many owners switched from the aluminum to the plastic and not the other way around.
