Here in the States our 2.4s are under the air box on the left side of the PT.

Hmmm...OP being from the UK, his PT could be a diesel in which case the battery is under one of the seats IIRC.

But there were no diesel PTs in 2000.

When standing in front of the car, battery is on the right, in front, under air cleaner.
