Default 2003 won't start after new plugs

My PT cruiser had code 0303 and engine light is on. I changed the plugs and wires, now it won't start at all. No codes showing. When I try to crank the engine, it clicks like a bad battery sound and won't start. The speedo gage and the rpm gage climb fast and return to zero when I do this. Any suggestions? Thanks

Have the auto parts store load test the battery.
Also, check the cables...clean and corrosion.

Thanks for your input. I will have the battery checked out but would all the interior electric work if it was no good? Radio and dash are normal.
I am so happy to have found this forum. Browsing through, I see all kinds of help which is a great thing. Thanks so much

Yes, you can have lights, radio, guages all working but when it comes to the starter, you need almost all the power the battery can put out. Everything else can run on a very weak battery.

If you're not turning the engine over, forget about codes....
Hook up another car with jumper cables and see...
