Default 2006 Cruiser died randomly.

My wife was driving her cruiser the other day, when the check engine light came on and then the vehicle died. I ran a scan and came back w codes p0340 and p0335. Changed both sensors with no problems, and decided to give it a plug change while I was in the engine anyway(it was about due). cleared the codes and tried again. now it is throwing the first two codes, plus P2302. the previous owner(we've owned it about 2 weeks) had the timing belt changed not long ago, and I"m wondering if he could have botched the job. Any ideas, insight, input would be greatly appreciated.

After you cleared the codes, changed the sensors and plugs did the car ever start again after it originally died? If not, check to see if the timing belt is still working properly.

Car hasn't run since. cracked the timing belt cover and the belt turns when the motor is cranked. if that's what you mean by working properly, then yes.

The other thing is, did you use auto store sensors as a replacement or use Chrylser/MOPAR parts. After market sensor make look like the same but it's been proven on this forum and others that they don't last very long ...or work at all. Inferior internal parts don't hold up.

The problem is to identify which, if either, is a bad one. Never seen both sensors throw a code unless the timing belt goes. Usually it's the P0340 (Camshaft sensor) and we have seen a number of times where the harness to that exact sensor rub against things along the way to the computer so you might what to check the harness for worn spots.

that was my next step. I"m hoping the belt hasn't jumped any teeth as well.
