Default 2004 Oil Pressure Light

Hello:

I have a 2004 turbo PT and the Oil Pressure Light is coming on when my speed is under 30-40 MPH.
If I speed up and accelerate the light goes away, but when I am coming to a stop and the speed is under 30-40 the light comes on and 'Dings'.
When I speed up, it goes out.

I do not seem to be losing oil as I check it. Overtime I do have some small spots on the driveway, but nothing in mass or unusal.

Is there an easy way to find out if it's the sensor or the oil pump or any other issues?
Does autozone do any free tests??

Thank you

Approximately how much does this cost if it is the sensor and a mechanic does it?
Is this a defect that I should I take it to the dealership?

Check the parts store I thought these were under $20. On this part OEM is not a must. IMHO I you can't do it.check around to see who is recommended. Dealer will be most likely more expensive. A call to all will tell.

I had this happen a few months ago and got the local garage to change the sensor, which I had sourced. Fixed the problem, but mechanic said it was a PITA. Glad I paid the hour's worth of labor.
