Neon had 2.0, and (US) PT's had 2.4's, except SOME turbo Neons, but '01 PT isn't a turbo

Look thru links in my sig- there's a document somewhere on rebuilding the 2.4-
It talks of different brackets, mount tabs, oil filter positions, etc for each model.

Basic BOTTOM END is same for you back to 1994 in Stratus, pistons might be a bit diff but don't think it'd matter.

When oil filter is where axle would be, however ...

'01 / '02 - 4 door Stratus and Sebring cars use the exact same 2.4 engine. You'd need to swap out the oil pan, oil pump and all the brackets, but the basic engine is the same.

No they don't, they're different. The Stratus engine has a bore x stroke of 86.5 x 100.0, and a compression ratio of 9.0:1. The PT engine has a bore x stroke 87.5 x 101.0 and a compression ratio of 9.4:1.

They're small differences, sure, but they are not the same engine. Just like the Caliber, Avenger, Patriot, Compass 2.4 is not the same as the PT 2.4.

No, the same. ALL Mopar 2.2, 2.5, 2.0 an 2.4's have had a 87.5 bore since 1981

If there's some different spec, then it's another manufacturer

You may be referring to the 2 door cars. They are built on the Mitsubishi platform, and are not the same engines. The 4-door cars are exactly the same. The Caliber, etc use the new 2.4 "world" engine which is also different.

The original designed 2.4 remained in production until the PT was killed off. '01 / '02 were the same, '03 up use a different (32 tooth) tone ring, as well as a few other differences that make them non-interchangeable, but still the same bore / stroke / design.
