Default 2.0 vs 2.4 PCM computer??

Hi there,

I ordered an OEM PCM and had it flashed with the new updates, VIN, and mileage. The reason was for the P0601 code on my 00 PT 2.0 auto. The PCM arrived but the paper stated 2.4. After I plug in, the new ECM immediately displayed the P1495 code. The P0601 is gone with the new ECM, but now I have the P1495 code and would not start.

I re-installed my old ECM and no longer get the P1495 code, but the P0601 code is there.

I was checking to see if any of you have ran into this with an ECM/PCM replacement. Do you think that the new ECM was sent defective or 2.4 is a problem...?

P.s My Pt was manufactory USA and I am having this car in Hong Kong. There is only 8 in Hong Kong so I could not get much help here.
I order the PCM from USA and it seem I have to send back to them for resend. I hope they will take the shipping cost as it cost around $100 in one way.

Thanks and your suggestion is highly appreciate!

To my knowledge all PTs were manufactured in Mexico. The 2.0 was only used in export models. Doubt that the two would use the same computer.

Thanks guys
However, my most concern is the computer which the OEM company company sent me a 2.4 but my is 2.0.
Hope anyone who could share me your comment and experience? I can not get any help here in Hong Kong but it is really cool to drive PT here.

Swap the two outer wires on coil connector or swap spark plug wire #1 with # 2, and #3 with #4
