Default Coolant Leak, Is it my Water Pump?

First, my car is a 2007 Base model NA PT Cruiser. It has 86,741 miles.

I was doing an oil change and while under the car I noticed a leak at the front of my engine. It looks like the red coolant. I'm thinking it's the water pump. The are no signs of any leak in the upper part of the engine that I could see. Is it possible it's the light knocking I've been hearing for the 1st 2-3 minutes when cold starting the engine? Here are a few photos I took:

You can see the leak to the left of the photo.

The next two are closeups of it:

Thanks in advance.

I just recently had a similar leak and thought "oh Shoot" my water pump. To find out after spraying everything done with water a little simple green letting dry something different? While the PT was on level ground I set paper bags still folded under the area of the suspected water pump leak. When the coolant showed it was in a little different area then the actual water pump? As it turned out the plastic thermostat housing was leaking and the flow of coolant ran back along the engine block and then downward in the front of the engine close to the water pump. I confirmed this with the flash light at night so as to get a better spot angle view. So it was a 20 minute change of the housing and as long as I was there popped in new thermostat.

I would check an area that had Nitro thinking the same thing. Look at the thermostat housing, upper and lower for any streaking or seeping. This run right down to were you are seeing the fluid. Trans fluid is also red.

Thanks guys, I just checked and there's a slight leak at the bottom of the housing. I guess I just need to get the thermostat gasket, not the whole housing. I assume that's what this gasket is called. I'll probably pickup a thermostat too, 195 is stock?

Look at the plastic housing carefully. They do crack. You will see the cracks when you look inside after you remove if there are any.

I'll inspect the housing when I pull it. It says advance auto has them in stock, so if it's broken, I'll just get one. Looking at it again, it looks like I have to pull the upper intake cover to get to the one clamp. Does this sound correct?

Also, how much coolant do I have to drain to do this job?

It is a o-ring seal, the housing are very inexpensive.

I was also suggested that these will leak from either cracking or warping so I obtained one for a great price on ebay just to have around encase I needed it.

Check with Uptownsport here on this forum if you might want one.

I had the same issue and I thought it was the water pump. Mine was leaking from the housing to block. The gasket is a dealer part or from RockAuto. I also changed the water pump inlet tube O-ring and all of my hoses.
