Default Help my baby( a 2001 pt cruiser) please

Ok so my 2001 pt cruiser has began to over heat. I took it to Chrysler and they said it is happening because of an accident I was in a year a go. My boyfriend and his friend ( they work on engines) said the radiator has a hole in it. But yet the guy at Chrysler said that it was some things got crushed cause of the accident. And it would cost over a grand to fix it all not to mention the body shop work not included. I've taken this car recently to my mechanic who put in a new water pump changed the timing belt and the spark plugs last month ( he said nothin bout everything being crushed.) what should I do? I am going to try to attach a pic of the dent in the post below.

It's not leaking any coolant or anything. I need an oil change and I think the wrong coolant was put in the car( when the water pump and belt was changed)

^^^^^^^^conflicting ????^^^^^^^^^^^^^

First have a pressure test done on the cooling system.
If there is in fact a hole then change the radiator, thermostat and drain refill your cooling system. Then see what happens?
The wrong (?) coolant if you live in and purchased it US is not going to cause heating issues as long as it was no more then a 50% mix.

You noticed my new signature (good eye) but never noticed the exhaust that had (past tense) been around on my PT and pictured since summer? I just didn't really make it known because I used spare parts I had to make the system up.

unless i missed something this is nto near the radiator
yes it could ahve a leak they do that some times
a radiator from Oriley is $149 you have some one to do the work

my question is how hot have you got the car??? above the red line into the red or just above the half way mark

my guess is your radiator fan has died they are cheap like $100 at rock auto and not to hard to install

Hard to know without checking out the car. But check out the PT coolant thread here (your radiator could be gunked up?)

Why HOAT? The PT radiator coolant thread...

Also, there are two fan fuses located under the hood near the positive battery terminal (the one by the brake fluid reservoir). One is for a high fan setting and the other is a low fan setting. One may be bad. One costs more than the other but I think they are each under twenty bucks. Might want to check there first. Don't spend a grand and don't panic!

One of the split seats went into a dumpster in Tulsa. The arm rest unscrewed and fell off. It's on its 2nd timing belt. Surviving the Upper Peninsula winters.
