Default Timing Belt

I have 02 pt cruiser with a 2.4l dohc I just got the car over the weekend the guy i bought it from said that when they changed the clutch they changed the timing belt well i decided to pop to cover open and look at the belt it still has the writeing on it and looks farly new the car has 136,000 miles on it just wondering if this sounds like newer belt or if they writing gets rubbed off let me know what you guys think.

If the writing indicates the belt is aftermarket, then it probably has been changed. If it is an OEM belt, then it is hard to say...could have used an OEM belt as a replacement or ...it could be the original.

Writing dose ware off. Just don't know how long. Not original for sure.

That's what I was thinking the guy said that they had it changed so I figured since I can see the writing that there is no way it has 136,300 miles on it so I am going to run it for maybe say another 50,000 and change it just to be on the safe side I know this is a pain but I am pretty confident that I can change it.

Not 100% sure his son had the car done at a shop in Florida while he was in collage and the dad just paid for it so he said he wasn't sure exactly when it was. just that he said it was the clutch and timing belt that was changed.
