You should take the gear case and clean and lubricate. contacts may be worn.

You should give Rob your wiper motor then.

oh man, i use it like a fiend! i never leave it on. i just use it often to clean the glass and give it a quick on and off to wipe the rain/snow. i like the rear wiper. honestly, i don't know how i ever went without one.

i'll take busted's advice and take it apart. i googled it. it looks like i should be able to take it apart enough to get into the gearing.

I would go to a junky and pull a spare. Then play with the one in your car.

How wide is the blade you put on? Maybe the motor is tired.

Before tearing into the motor, it could just be a loose bolt holding the arm on. I've experienced this twice with mine already. Sometimes the bolt just works itself loose a little.

I use mine all the time. But I'm anal about streaks or anything on my glass. If one little bead of water runs down the window, I turn the wipers on to get rid of it! I think I use my rear wiper more than I change my radio station!

^just checked, it's tight. also, i can wiggle the wiper about an inch up and down and it feels like it moves freely.

it's a 15" blade. the window is well rainx'd and was wet. very little friction IMO. it could be the motor i suppose, but now it's fine. moves smooth and quick again. either way i'll take it apart 1st. junk yards are no fun in the snow.
