Default This morning i heard the click of doom! :( haha

So last night i left my 12 hour security shift at the closed down Hostess plant at midnight.

Got into the PT and tried to crank her over.....once....twice.....then she woudlnt crank at all.

Had my relief guard jump me. Battery sparked like a bastard the whole time. But got her started.

Went out this morning and went to start her.

Thats when i heard THE CLICK OF DOOM!!!!!!

So i had to call AAA and have her jumped. she tried to die out 3 times on the 4 mile trip to VIP auto at 7am.

$117 later i have a battery with 600+ cold cranking amps and shes all nice and happy again.

VIP said it had so many blown cells that they were surprized i even got it there hah.

Gotta love winter. HAVE YOUR BATTERIES TESTED PEOPLE

The one that came with the car, was a uhhhhh duralast i believe with a 24 mo. Was installed in 09 i believe. it was its time. The one i got has a very long warranty. So i shouldnt be having any more issues anytime soon, and like i said it has over 600 amps. so she would turn over in alaska haha

Once started shouldn't the car have run off the alternator? Did you get that tested as well?

Mine is from 2005 and it still has the stock battery
So it seems there's at least one quality item in the car

man on our pts if the battery is dead it will cause a ton of odd and crazy stuff to happen you need that 13-14 amps to keep the system working the way it needs to work

If you have bad cell or cells the voltage drop is bad and the PCM's dont like it, then get all kinds of electrical gremlins.

Keep the terminals and grounds clean and if your batttery is old, might want to pre-empt the BS and just buy a new one on your terms and call it good.

My 06 had the original battery in it and last summer I pre-empted the inevitable and got a replacement @ the dealership - getting 6 years out of it was fine with me.
