Smile #1 misfire code

I have a 2004 PT cruiser with 101,000 miles on it(non turbo engine ). The check engine light came on and I had a very rough idle. I took it to my mechanic and he said the following; "#1 cylinder has high secondary spike compared to others, slope is off as well, noted stumble when fans come on.Wires have 30,000 mi. plugs were replaced 12,000 miles ago.(one year)
After reading several posts on the forum, I had him replace the wires and plugs. We used a Belden wire set rather than stock.
After replacing #1 secondary slope pattern was much better similar to other cylinders. Spike is still high, although better. No stumble noted when fan comes on. " Any ideas from the forum are much appreciated. Thanks

Except for the spike, sounds like all is well with the changing of the Ignition parts.

Most of us never get deep enough to use the diagnostic equipment to notice a high secondary spike and only worry about the stumble so they would be pleased that it's running good without any symptoms of rough idle or stumble.

Welcome to the forum.
