Default PT won't start, acts like it wants to

Hi everyone-

This is my 1st post, other than the welcome forum. I've spent the last couple days searching to see if I could figure out why it won't start. I'm in Ohio- so its cold & snow. I've replaced the battery because I thought that was it, it was initially doing the tic-tic-tic. Now it acts like it wants to start, but won't catch.

I tried doing the key dance for codes- but I don't get any codes, instead I get a flashing engine light.

2007, 2.4L L4 FI DOHC 16V, non-turbo, automatic, about 30k miles.

Thanks in advance!

How cold is it and how long has it been sitting outside? Since it's that "new", that might indicate a weather related like a blocked (iced) fuel line, stuck TB butterfly etc. Any chance you can get it inside a garage for awhile?

The flashing engine light is an alert to serious conditions that could lead to immediate loss of power or severe CAT damage according to the Owners manual.

I only get the flashing light if I try the key dance to get the codes. It was well below zero last week with wind chills and that is when the problem started. We got snow last night, but its 47 now and it still won't catch. Yes, I have a garage, it will just mean pushing it there. Thanks for the response!

Thanks. I'm hoping its something simple and inexpensive to fix. I have a warranty- Wynn's Extended Gold Plan. But, I'm quickly finding out that I may have wasted money by purchasing the warranty. Its unfortunate that a reputable car dealer sells such a lousy warranty product. Needless to say, I won't be purchasing from the dealer again, because the warranty is worthless.
