Default Does a Water Pump make any noise when going?

My 2007 Base model, 2.4L NA has almost 88,000 miles. I was hoping to get the timing belt and water pump done next year, around 100,000 miles.

I was wondering if the slight start up noise could be from the water pump. As I posted in another thread, it only makes a very light knocking noise for the 1st minute or so, then I hear nothing unless the car sits for a while.

I'm curious if the water pumps make noises or just go. I would think if it started making a noise it wouldn't stop. My car has no issues with running hot.

I'm just trying to determine if it's got a chance to be the water pump or if I can start looking in other places.

I'm not looking for a full diagnosis, just an idea if this sounds like it could be the water pump. When they start to go, do they typically make a noise, if so would it be all the time or could it be like mine and just when cold.

Any experiences would be appreciated.

I'm not sure but maybe this will help:

It's definitely not a whining or howling noise. And my heater blows out great. If that's the only noise they make, then I could be good for 1 more year.

I'd love to replace my shocks & struts now, but don't have the money to do them and the timing belt, water pump, etc. at the same time.
