Default Questions on upgrade to Walbro GSS340 fuel pump

Reading through the forums, I have noticed that several forum members have upgraded to Walbro 255lph fuel pumps. Do these pumps fit in the existing assembly without modification? Or do you have to do some modification? Do I need any other special pieces other than what is provided in the standard install kit? I realize that this pump is overkill for my 07 touring, but I want a good quality aftermarket pump that will last. If you have suggestions on an alternative quality pump that might cost less, I am open to your advice. Thanks! Scott.

Lifetime free replacement warranty/....we will pay for all delivery charges.

FEATURES:
Our High Flow Performance 255LPH Intank Fuel Pumps have a number of design advantages compared to a Walbro 255 pump.

1. Except for a faint "wheen" during pump priming, our pumps are nearly silent. Walbro pumps are notorious for their loud vibrating "hum" during operation. This makes HFP pumps particularly suited to both performance, as well as stock replacement applications.

2. We back every single pump with a Lifetime Warranty. Walbro requires that you pay a $40 "warranty fee" when you send the pump in for testing which often results in them telling you it was installer error, not pump failure.

3. Our HFP 255LPH pumps are flow verified by RC Engineering (flowsheets below) and are proven to outflow any other 255LPH intank pump on the market by 10% across the board - including Walbros. Our pumps flow significantly more than Walbro's at higher pressures, like those seen in turbocharged and supercharged applications.

I figured NitroPT would be saying (or demanding) that you did not need a performance fuel pump unless you do a lot of other performance modifications first. I am stunned.

Did I recommend anything or only state some information?

If one is going to use an upgraded fuel pump than why not a better one at the same price or less then others?

Why are you even responding on this thread this thread?
Do you have experience with performance electrical fuel injected fuel pumps?

SPLNeon at this point if you want some good information advise on what to use with your "TRACK" PT Cruiser please PM me anytime.

Will do. I'm going to Check Fuel Pressure on my old girl first, then if it is lower than permissable, Ill swap in the better pump. :-)

Just surprised at your positive response. Good job. I'm all about the kinder gentler response.
