Default Replacing Replacement Option for Battery Cables

I thought the battery was dead on my 2001, bur now I see problems with the battery cables.

The negative cable came right off, even though it was clamped down all the way. Looks like the clamp is too big.

The positive cable end was formed from sheet metal, and fell apart when I tried to manipulate it it.

So would like to replace the positive cable, and put a new clamp on the negative cable.

Is there an aftermarket positive cable that is better than the original one? The current cable looks like a factory one, designed for the tight space under my PT hood.

I hate to spend that kind of money on cables. But once you start to peace in new ends you create future trouble spots every place you splice in. More connections to clean. So this is the least worry some way to go.
