Default Engine fan running

I know that in earlier post I had complained about my fan not running on the low speed. Thanks to these forums I was able to fix the issue and replace the fan. Now I seem to have the polar opposite problem. The fan is running all the time. I make sure the selector switch isn't on defrost and the blower is in the off position yet even after starting up first thing in the morning it comes on and runs. Is this a problem ? What could be some passable causes and fixes for this. I would hate to burn out that fan quickly. Thanks in advance for all the help again.

Maybe a relay stuck. Did it do that from the start? Is your temp gauge showing the correct temp. Yes it will ware out the new fan quicker. Did the plug look burned any?

The Temp gauge climbs to the middle and stays right where it should. The plug when replacing looked fine to me. what relay should i be looking at. I have a few extras from the junk yard. I dont think that they all would be bad.

Your not saying if the fan is running on high or low speed. You have an 05 so your PDC in the engne compartment looks like this:

You can clearly see the LOW and HIGH speed relays marked. One of them (HIGH) is the same as 5 other relays (including the horn) and the LOW speed relay is a little larger.

While the fan is running and nothing else is, pull the High or Low relay so the fan stops to see which one might be stuck.

If that fails to stop it then someone might have hot wired it somewhere. And you will need to check the wiring for this.
