Default Rear Drum brakes on 2002 PT

Can you guys tell me if the rear drum brakes on our PT's are self-adjusting?
If I back up and apply the brakes aggressively will it adjust the shoes? I used to be able to do that in my '88 Beretta, but wasn't sure if the same trick would apply to my PT. Thanks in advance for any answers that you can give me.

Steve

From the PT Do-It-Yourself.com: Questions and Answers.

Are the back drum brakes self adjusting when you back up, do they adjust themselves?

From the service manual - the rear wheel drum brakes are a two-shoe, internal-expanding type with an automatic adjuster screw. The automatic adjuster screw is actuated each time the brakes are applied. The automatic adjuster screw is located directly below the wheel cylinder.

All drum brakes are supposed to be self adjust. But if corrosion or service was done incorrectly then they may not work. If emergency brake holds you are probably OK.
