Default good exhaust/muffler for non turbo pt?

I found this setup and was wondering if it would be an upgrade for my pt stock muffler? I like stainless look and would like a little different sound. It says it is a walker brand but the muffler is dynomax. Will have to weld it or are there brackets to to unbolt?

I would check around YouTube and look at what other people are running so you can get the sound you like.

Thats a good idea. Do you know if the pt exhaust is connected with a clamp or will I have to take it to get welded? Also, are the stock mufflers bolted (clamp) or welded?

I would like a low rumble (for a 4 cylinder ) but don't want it be too loud and not have the annoying loud drone when cruising down the interstate. Really I want it to get kinda loud when I'm on the gas pretty good, but for regular driving not to be very noticeable.

Borla Exhaust

check out this thread on the subject - I believe the vid will still play so you can hear what it sounds like. Very good quality and it will give you the rumble without the drone on the highway.

thanks for the info Ray Dockrey!

red06limited - that sounds good my only problem is that I need to keep it under $100...so really I'm mainly looking for a muffler. Are there any mufflers that sound like the borla setup?

I replaced exhaust on my '02 and '05 and it was clamp, not welded.
For a non-turbo, a stock turbo exhaust is an upgrade -you can get one cheap from somone who replaced theirs.
Post her and on PTCrew if you decide to do that.
The turbo muffler flowes more freely than the non-turbo muffler.

If you want something sutble, id look into a "turbo" muffler. Its the series, not the car it goes on. Ask any good parts guy, and he can point you towards one. The turbo is a quiet cruising muffler, but when you get into them, they have a nice tone.
