Default Oh the joys of buying used

Well at least for now it seems to be the little things but they add up. First the power steering sensor switch was leaking, then the power steering belt broke. Seems the pullys were not lined up and the belt wore prematurely. Got the pullies lined up and now the AC compressor will not engage. Hoping they just knocked a wire or switch loose. Oh an now it seems to be leaking coolant around the heater core. With a 2002 and 134K miles ( and a front end collision) I do expect some repairs. Just hope these things get resolved soon!

Yeah I know what you mean. Mine was great during the test drive but, after a couple days the heater core clogged than the water pump started to leak, torque struts needed replaced. I fixed all that. Now I have a error code 0411. It just don't seem to ever end. And I bought this from a guy that owns a repair shop.

Exclamation Re: Oh the joys of buying used

Nothing wrong with buying used, I bought mine used at a dealer in Iowa, and drove it back home to Texas, didnt have any issues.

Had it for almost 2 years since then. I've had no mechanical issues at all.

I like to think I am pretty good at picking out used cars

I have bought used for over 30 yrs. usually it goes well. This time not so much. But still like the car.
Had to replace the fan motor that only ran on low and had been straight wired. (now I know why there was no thermostat). Replaced a switch on the AC compressor. Replaced a motor mount.
Over the last three weeks I have put $900 in the car. I keep telling myself that that is less than 3 payments on a new so I am still ahead. Hopefully I will not have to see my mechanic for a while.
