Default Help with one code

Hello Guys, I was working on my PT this weekend to try to clear 2 codes that it has stored since some time ago.

First one was easy, P0550, I just changed the sensor and that clear the code away.

The second one P0172 System too Rich, is the one giving me some problems to figure out, here is what I checked:

1. Air Filter (changed).
2. Injector cleaner bottle put at the fuel tank.
3. MAF sensor cleaned.

The PT is running great, no stall, it recovers some power, in the past it had a little stall and was short of power when you start from stop, now run great.

Any idea of what can cause this code to shows up?

I have access to a live recording scanner, so if you want me to check something please let me know.

Thanks

these cars do not have a MAF sensor. you mean MAP?

I'd check the o2 sensors

I had 5 codes all related to the same issue and that code was one of them. I just fixed it 2 days ago. I believe it the coild pack not firing correctly. My pt was running so rich i was using double the amount of gas. Now it runs great. I would try that first. I took the number 1 wire off and tested it at the coil pack. I paid $83 to get a new one.

Hi Rob,

I have a problem and no one can seem to help me out. I put new t-stat yesterday fluched radiator, Fan is running, no water on the ground, and filled it with water. I let it sit in idle for 5 min and it started to over heat again. I have had this problem for awhile and cant figure it out. You have any suggestion?

Hey Rob, tell him about trapped air in the coolant system.
