Default Odor of burning wood

Occasionally I get a strong odor inside the car of burning wood. It happens after routine driving, i.e. I have not pushed the turbo hard. It goes away after a few minutes. Oil level is fine. It is really strong when it happens. Any ideas?

I'd get a good light, and look carefully at the back of the engine - seems something (wires, tubing) is touching turbo plumbing - my guess. [:I]

Is it new? Sometimes new cars smell like this before there are broken in, but not always.

Gave some more thought - Is it manual or auto? If manual, you could be smelling clutch. Also, could it be brake smell? Next time, try and locate where smell is emanating from (under hood, wheels, front, rear, etc).
