Default overheating?

Hey everyone,
I have been a lurker here for some time with pt cruiser troubles. However, I have a mystery problem with my car. I was wondering if anyone could help.

My car: 2001, touring, manual transmission, 109k miles.

I have an oil leak but no one has figured out why. On tight turns my power steering leaks (like parallel parking). However what I am here for is an antifreeze leak. It leaks when I drive, but I can go about 50 mi before the temp gauge goes up. The curious thing is two to three days of sitting from driving all the antifreeze leaks out. I took it to the shop and they told me my water pump was dead and were charging 1200 bucks. I can't afford that. I drove it home (did fine cause they replaced antifreeze/fluids to find out they put the wrongkind of antifreeze. Is it really a broken water pump? Is something else wrong? Thanks!

Sorry for spelling (on phone).

Replacing the water pump is expensive because the timing belt must be removed and replaced to get to the pump. But, since your car has over 100K miles, the timing belt, tensioner, and idler need to be replaced anyway. They could fail any time. Maybe today.

I'm having hoses replaced on 2002 PT with 90,0000 miles. Nobody can seem to find one hose - part # 4777967AC Heater Tube. Dealer says on BO with no release date posted. Anyone know where to get this part?

I googled "4777967AC Heater Tube" and found 4 places that have it in stock. Best price was $77. Plus shipping, of course. . .
