Unhappy 2002 pt cruiser overheating

I need help. Trying to make my car last 6 more months. It start overheating only when I was stoped. Since then I have had 3 people work on it. I have no white smoke coming out which I'm told would indecate a head gasket. I have had 2 different thermo put in, new radiator, pressure test, new hoses and the water pump check (the said that was fine). I put water in and can go about 10 miles shut the car off then i girrles. I then lose water coming from the reserve bottle. I have spent $600 dollars so far and money is tight. Can anyone give me some hints?

Thank You

You didn't say anything about changing the radiator fan and that's the No#1 cause of the PT Cruiser overheating. The second would be a clogged radiator. Other causes include having trapped air in the coolant system. It needs to be bled of all excess air to run properly and not overheat.

A loose fitting over flow hose will loose coolant and suck air back into the system.
