Default Need some advice

Hey everyone. Need some advice.

Today I finally found out what's making my coolant leak. It's the water pump. So I need to replace that but I'm wondering if I should replace the timing belt as well. I'm only at 69,XXX miles but my PT is almost 10 years old. I think I should go with it since when the pump is replaced, the belt is right there. What advice do you have for me? Thanks.

I would take your own best advice and as Busa said and do both while there. But be sure its not running down from higher up. It can easily be misdiagnosed.

I would also replace the tensioner and idler along with the belt..I also replaced the cam shaft seals and crank seal on mine when I had it down..I just did not want to have to do it again because I didn't replace $10 worth of seals..

Definitely do the belt while you're there - and I threw in a new thermostat at the same time as added insurance...

Well I'm going to replace the pump and belt on Monday, my mechanic quoted me $700 for the job, which from seeing what other people paid, isn't that bad of a deal.
