Default Earth straps

I notice that both earth straps from the bodywork to the front hub assembly are broken on my 2001 PT. I need to repair these obviously, but what effect, if any, will they have on the car.

I realise that they are probably there to remove any static build up but apart from that what symptoms would I see with these broken?

Here ya go, everything you always wanted to know about the ground straps and probably a bit you didn't want to know either.

Thanks Crewzin

I sort of wished I had not asked now

Looks like I should fix these wires sooner rather than later.

I don't know.
You will be told here that without the ground straps, wheel bearings wear out faster.
