Looking to upgrade my exhaust from stock. I what the performance but don't want the loud harsh sound. Is there a brand that is better then others meeting that standard? Just can't handle the loud exhaust, moderate increase is expected, just not too much wanted[:I].

Nice colors on your cruiser....

I've gone with the Dyno Max #17732 muffler. It's got a nice sound, supposed to be "flow thru" and there's no drone. I also went with a 2 1/2" pipe from CAT to muffler for better flow. By the way...where in Maryland are you located? Came down here from Woodstock in Howard county.

Suggest you go to a Cruiser meet and listen for yourself. You also have to decide single or dual - the dual is 90% for looks, but hey, looks count, too. What I find acceptable, you may not.

Looks like a good price:

CREWZIN, it almost appears as if this muffler would be "too big" to fit a PT without some "major cutting"? [:I]

There are also other styles: http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers.stm

You can get MagnaFlow on ebay rather cheap, too.

i had a "ravin" brand muffler installed. it was very reasonable (code for i don't remember how much, sorry) a local midas here a little north of seattle installed it. the muffler has the same locations for the inlet and outlet as the stock muffler. the shop in bothell just cut off the stock mounting pegs off the oem and installed them on the new muffler. hit the weld spots with black touch up paint (the muffler is black) and away i went. the pt now sounds like a car. a little bit of a rumble, but not objectionable.
it may not be a firebreather-nitro burning exhaust, but the cost was reasonable and i didn't have to shell out a bucket of money for a better-than-stock exhaust. anywho, it satisfies me and is way better sounding than the stock exh. whatever works for u. good luck and there is no shortage of items to dress up your pt.

I got a Megaflow on mine. I think it looks good and
it isn't that loud. I wish it was louder.

I would like the BTG duals because they look and sound good. But I heard they have a droan and are somewhat louder then a single exhaust. If you can live with the loud drone of an intake, then what does the exhaust matter. Thats just me. Plus the BTG have no can that you can see.
