Default 2003 PT Cruiser MultiFunction Switch

Hello there! I've been reading and re-reading about the problem of the multi-function switch...I also experienced the 'dead' battery syndrom... My question is this... I went to find the part so I could replace it and OMG - confusion abounds... I need the part number - and then when I looked it up - there were at least 3 different numbers for the same part - one was listed as
standard multifunction/then another 'gold star' multifunction and yet still another one stated 'replacement' they all give the same choice w or w/o fog lights... Mine has fog lights... and the pricing was astronomical.. So my fellow Cruiser's .. can you help this single gal who is determined to fix it on her own? I just need to know the dang part number... my cruiser is called 'Minnie (as in Minnie the Moocher but Minnie the Cruiser).

Also has anyone been contacted by Chrysler about buying their cruiser - they have called me every week to ask if I wanted to sell her..

Thanks everyone who responds!

First, the calls: They only want to get you into the showroom to talk you into buying a new/newer car. Don't be fooled. People aren't lined up at their showroom looking for your cruiser. There were way over a million made and they can be found everywhere.

A new multifunction switch should cost you more than $70 with the fog lights and I've seen them go for less. RockAuto Parts Catalog has them for $50 with the fog lights.

Welcome.
My copy of the 2003 PT Cruiser parts manual says that you need MOPAR part number
05073049AA
for the multi-function switch with fog lights.

There are four part numbers listed, but the others are for cars with no fog lights or export models with rear fog lights also.

Just checked Advance website - it's $58.99, at least in my zipcode. In stock at my local store, so I can get the online discount and not pay for shipping.

I think the one that costs over $100 is the one without fogs...

Exactly, go pick it up put it in and problem solved. I had to get one when my pt failed inspection. Everything worked fine at least I thought so but when they tried the hazards, hardly ever use them, they didn't work. On the ride home the directionals had stopped working as well. It was late in the afternoon went on line, checked couple places and was delighted advance had it in stock. Picked it up and put it in that night and my wife was able to go back and get sticker the next day.
