Default help!!! code PO 0116 problem?

need help quick!! My 05 cruiser touring N/A automatic idles and runs and drives perfectly normal, with one exception. When accelerating heavily as if to pass another vechile the enigne immediately stalls. to resume normal driving simply ease up on the gas petal and all is good again. the only other problem is the cruise control will turn on but the cruise light goes out about 5 seconds later and will not turn back on. car shows only one error code PO 0116 (crank cam corr. error). crank and cam sensors including cam sensor target replaced with mopar parts, new platnium plugs and plug wires as well. cat convertor removed , checked and not restricted, at idle in netural under heavy acceration engine stalls above changes have produced no results can anyone help with this nightmare? Code P0116 in your PT Cruiser indicates a problem in the coolant temperature sensor circuit that is causing the coolant temperature to be inaccurate.........2......Read more: How to Fix a P0116 PT Cruiser | eHow

Replace your MAP Sensor. MAP Sensors are the hardest to diagnose, because the computer thinks they are working just because they are sending a signal. The computer has no way to determine if the signal is correct or not, for some reason. Easiest and probably the cheapest fix of all. Requires a Torx 15 driver. $18 at Autozone with a LLT Warranty.

Quic; I'd start by wiggling and inspecting wires from the cam sensor to the computer. A bad cps or cps magnet might cause the code. Or a skipped tooth on the timing belt?

Don, I'm with the above. Even though the Cam/Crank sensors are new, check the electrical connections and the wiring harness for any signs of wear. Might have to get to a scanner for further diagnostics. First, try the old and true method of taking off the negative battery cable for 5 minutes to reset the computer. Step on the brake pedal while it's unhooked and put it all back together. Can't hurt.
