Default Problem with pt. Help please!!

so I've had my Pt Cruiser for about 2 years now and a few months after i bought it something popped up on the dash board, it looks like its something to do with the seat belt and airbag. I noticed it goes on when i have someone on the passenger seat and if i start going way to fast. Does anyone know what this could be and how to fix the problem? the help is greatly appreciated please.

Question Re: Problem with pt. Help please!!

Regardless....First thing I would recommend check your seats sensor connections, sometimes after putting stuff under the front passenger seat, the connections of the sensor get bumped or pulled and can become loose.........Maybe,checking the connections under the seats or for the seat belts will fix the problem.......If your PT even has sensors????

It goes on when you have something in the passenger seat because the computer thinks there's a person sitting there and his/her seat belt is NOT buckled. Speed has/should have nothing to do with it although it takes a small amount of time for the computer to let you know that the seat belt isn't buckled and by that time you could reach a fair amount of speed.

If you have to put something in the passenger seat, reach over and buckle the belt as if someone was sitting in the seat.

I initially was thinking the same thing, but he said someone so I started thinking logically....and yeah,I don't think speed has anything to do with it,unless it's sudden acceleration causing the sensor connection to move around?....weird,huh?
