Default THERMOSTAT HOUSING IDNITITY????

The over flow is in the rear. Witch makes since. The hose end is split like an intake manifold where it inters the neck. It's also a 1/2 inch taller.

my 2002 has the one on the left. the one on the right sure looks like it would flow better though.

the one on the right, is the base a different angle? or are the holes closer together? if it is on a different angle, i'd worry about it making the upper hose rub the back of the intake(since i've already had 2 hoses fail due to chafing).

I have a replacement part from MOPAR (05278203AB) for my 01. Its like the one on the left with the overflow hose connection.

Personally I found that changing to the shorter housing with the overflow pointing forward towards the radiator works better for me.

That's what I'm thinking. Wondering why when I order one I get the left.. The hose has a mesh shielding anyway. Maybe that's been your issue on chaffing. The overflow is 180 fromthe one on the left.

The housing on the left IMO makes more sense to me?
If you think about it for a moment!?.......................................... ........

If the hose or housing cracks or breaks do you want all that "HOT" coolant spraying all over the electronics and sensors or on the radiators and all that other body stuff?

Thank you CREWZIN!!!

Thumbs up Re: THERMOSTAT HOUSING IDNITITY????

My 2003 Base is also like the one on the left(I went & checked)....That's weird that both are DC filler necks;Did both come off PT Cruisers?...If so;what were the years models?

Not sure what DC means?

As far as what models what went where it is best to consult with this rather then opinion? Ans even this parts information may be inaccurate because it does not include superseded #'s.
