Default Wire diagrams , crank & cam sensors

Anybody have some pics of the wiring diagrams for the crank and cam sensors on a 2002 Pt? Trying to locate a shorted wire. Any advice is appreciated.

Yes, there's a 'Factory Service Manual' online.

Search 'PT Cruiser FSM PDF'

PDFTown had it ...

The cam sensor is a pretty short path and easy to follow, the crank sensor is much harder plus you need to crawl under to get at it.

Hey guys. Ok, looking at the wires from the camshaft position sensor. I've uncovered half of them. The one to the PCM looks perfect. The other two which are black & blue, and Orange are the ones I'm curious about. I was thinking about bypassing them and hooking them directly where they go. The best I can tell from this picture is that the orange wire is the same orange wire that is on the crank sensor, but the black and blue wire I'm not sure where it leads. Any ideas from looking at this picture?

Looks like it goes to the PCM for a ground but also doubles as a ground for the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.

Might be wrong about that. Get conformation.

Since that wire is a ground,, then do you think the orange wire to the crank sensor is the wire with the problem?. If its a ground and its grounded then its probably not a problem, correct.?

Your theory sounds good BUT sounds too easy of an explanation.

dickjonson; The wires go back to the pcm. --- Careful! --- the black ground wire may be an internal ground and NOT a body ground. All testing must be done with a digital meter! The electronics guys could help out here.

Many wire problems are caused by chafing or heat. Also, by wearing from the axle shaft of sagging wires.
