Unhappy No spark 1&4...

Ok so I have an 04 2.4L with turbo that is giving me a p2302. I have replaced plugs and coil, move tested the plug wires and they are good, I've tested the wiring to the coil and it is good. The only thing left that I know of is a bad pcm but everything I've been told is that is not likely. I am wondering, is there anything else that could cause ther to be no spark on 1&4? I can't afford to take it in to the shop let alone buy a pcm for it so I'm just trying to see if I'm missing something. Thanks.

Bad coil pack perhaps? (1 & 4 are companion plugs on the same coil).

I know this is obvious but, try double check cable seating? Maybe the new ones are a bit short?

Ugh sounds like a real PIA, you have going on. It would seem that if you've changed the plugs and the coil pack the problem should be gone?

The only thing I can think of, is to swap wires again but not new ones swap the 1-4 wires to the 2-3 position and see if the problem moves?

check the connector and inspect wiring before you go throwing a new computer at it. i've had a couple crappy connectors on my car that looked fine but did not work.

if it were me i'd move the wires in the electrical connector. swapping the wire that signals 2&3 to fire with the wire that signals 1&4 to fire, as well as swapping the plug wires to the corresponding posts on the coil. if the problem is still present, you'll know its from the connector back. from there you test the wire at the coil connector and the ECU. if it's good, you'll know the computer is not sending a signal.

i'm not a mechanic so i could be wrong on that, anyone want to correct me? i'm good electrically though, and this makes sense to try.

Well I got a hook up at the dealership and they looked at it for me for free and they say its the PCM, looks like I'm going to have to she'll out more money than I want on a car we've had 8 months. Wishing I would've got the aftermarket warranty now. Oh we'll too late.

abus; check for a 0340 code. I don't know if the dealership computer can tell the difference between a bad pcm or a corroded connection. Like rob said, check the connectors. This might involve --- disconnecting the neg battery terminal --- removing the pcm --- unplugging and plugging the multi-connectors several times --- reinstall. With a wiring diagram and an ohmeter you could determine conductivity between the coil plug and the pcm plug.
