Default Broke that darn fuel supply line today...

...Got tired of my '05 throwing a P0128 Check Engine code so I set out this afternoon to replace the thermostat.
Seemed simple enough...WRONG!
While lifting the stat housing up just high enough to get at the thermostat, I broke off the plastic fuel hose right at the fuel rail fitting.
Called around the local Chrysler Dealers...nothing in stock.

So now my PT will sit until a new firewall to fuel rail line arrives late Monday afternoon.

BTW...the original thermostat was stuck open. I suspected as much, this car takes way too long to warm up. Hopefully this will now correct the CE code showing up.

Only attempted this because I replaced both upper and lower engine mounts in about 1hr this morning and it all went SO well...

That firewall to fuel rail line couldn't have been put in a worse spot...always in the way. It is a plastic piece of crap.

Have said this before, but back in the old days with a low pressure fuel system (5-6 psi) the lines were steel with threaded fittings...nowadays, high pressure fuel systems (60 psi) have crappy plastic lines and fittings...go figure.

Yeah, my heart sank when I heard that plastic snap.
I agree...a simple fix in the "good old days".
Now the car will sit for a few...
