Default EnergySuspensionParts.com

Here is a sorry story of buying parts direct from overseas (for me anyway in the UK)

I purchased a complete set of suspension bushes from EnergySuspensionParts.com on 16th July and after several weeks and having to pay import duty in to the UK of about $35 the kit arrived. I planned with a mechanic that he should replace all the bushes in my 2000 LE 2.0L PT whilst I was away on holiday for a week in August.

I left my car with the mechanic on 9th August and he was to start work on Monday 12th. I went on holiday and got a call from the mechanic on the 12th saying the parts did not fit but all the old bushes had been ripped out, what should he do. I needed the car back on my return so I told him to buy parts from local Chrysler dealer. He could not buy the front bushes as they were on a 6 week lead time so he had to spend $300 on new lower arms.

That's the sorry part, a job that was to cost $200 labour and $130 parts now cost $250 labour, $430 parts and $35 duty.

I contacted EnergySuspensionParts.com and even though it was not worth shipping the parts back and therefore having to prove the problem with photos they returned my $130. In reality I would have liked them to offer something extra for the extra it cost me but to be fair I took a chance in purchasing from the US knowing I might have to pay duty on the parts. If I had purchased the parts from a UK supplier the kit would have cost around $180 BUT if the parts were wrong they could have shipped the correct ones very quickly.

Lesson learnt, dont try to be clever and save money. All in all down $400 on the whole job.

I bought the same or similar kit from Energy Suspension for my 2006 PT Cruiser, although they haven't been installed yet.

The box is labeled 00-UP PT Cruiser Front and the part # is 5.3129G and the bar code is 7 03639 50871 7.

How does that compare to your kit?

All the bushings on the pt's are all the same. These install a little different than stock bushings. Especially the flat lower control bushing. Maybe they didn't know what to do.

Just to be very clear for everyone reading this to get the correct players as far as suppliers go!

EnergySuspensionParts.com
This is a retailer/vendor of auto parts and even advertises as an independent dealer of ENERGY SUSPENSION

IS NOT in any way part of

ENERGY SUSPENSION

^^^^^^This is a manufacture wholesale distributor and retailer of suspension products.

So if anyone's issues or problem are with EnergySuspensionParts.com
this does NOT have anything to do with ENERGY SUSPENSION the manufacture!

Two totally different companies.

Not that it matters to much but..... I am curious how parts ordered from a company that there listing for the PT application starts 2001?
I do realize that most all the years the suspension parts are all interchangeable!

It would seem that the person in the stores (not sure which stores!) picked the completely wrong parts. There are one or two in the kit that will fit and some that absolutely will not fit.

You should post picks of the bushings. So we can have a look, if you can.

As Jassy is saying, "Lesson learnt, dont try to be clever and save money."
Cost cutting can lead to problems.

Here is a link to "the correct" kit.
