Default error codes, hesitation, and rough idle

Good evening everyone,

I have tried searching for my problem and found many post but no solution so hopefully someone can help me here. My CEL came on earlier this week throwing codes P1684 (I know that doesn't involve anything) and code P0172 (Bank 1 too rich). I have replaced the spark plugs (ngk v-power gapped at .040) and coil pack (got a free msd from a SRT friend). That didn't change anything. I will post my symptoms below.

Symptoms: rough idle, when pressing the gas I have a delay before the car actually goes (its like I hit a boost button).

Can anyone please help me here? Thank you in advance.

Kev; change the pcv valve and check for vacuum leaks.

Check the vacuum hose going to the EGR valve, and associated EGR valve control assembly......And maybe even the electrical connector for EGR transducer.(any of these may have gotten 'bumped' or disconnected during the plug change.)

Mine did that at 30,000 miles and barely started once, but did not show codes. I added AMSOIL fuel system cleaner, changed to NGK Iridium plugs and NGK wires, used AMSOIL air intake cleaner, and replaced with AMSOIL air filter. All has been good and city mpg went from 17 to 21. Hopefully all good for the next 100,000 miles.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I looked at the vaccum lines like you all have suggested and didn't find any holes or kinks. I took the egr valve off and cleaned it with carb cleaner. Although the idle did get better, when I press my gas pedal it still has a hesitation before launching off and when I go to stop the rpms still dip before 500 AMD then goes up to 1000 RPM.

From all of the people that I have talked to say that it possibly could be a bad injector. What do ya think?

I am going to look at the intake manifold this weekend. Working 2nd sucks because I have no time to look at the car until the weekends. I am going to visually inspect the manifold and injectors. I will post my findings once I get this done.

Kev; when you had the egr off, did you verify that the valve seat closed completely? Since you improved the idle by cleaning it, it sounds like a lean condition. I'd still change the pcv valve.

When ever I look for Vacuum leaks I start the car and use WD40 lightly spray around joints and connections . If you have the Slightest Leak the engine will Rev. at higher RPM
