Cool Ultra Gauge

Just ordered one of those ultra gauges. My understanding is thats its a bit more difficult to install than the Autometer ecometer. Any useful hints appreciated.

Not sure what you mean? It plugs into the OBDII diagnostic port and its installed.

I had to look up the Auto Meter and it installs exactly the same way. If you mean set up the Autometer does not read all the PCM information and read outs where as the Ultra gauge does. So the Auto meter may take 10 minutes of gauge set up and the Ultra Gauge 15 minutes? Give or take a couple minutes.
Now the registration process takes a bit longer. LOL They want you to read it and answer questions before you get that step completed. Good idea so you can come back and claim the gauge is defective only to have them find out a step was not done during set up.

Have a pen and paper at hand to write down the serial number for your test questions.

Easiest thing I've ever installed in a car... aside from fuel, floormats, or my butt in the front seat.

Seriously, I've had a harder time swapping wiper blades!

Thanks guys. I was just wondering if there was any calibration that was needed or just let it run at the factory settings. I got an auto-meter a while back that was supposed to work in my 05 but never did. Worked fine in my 03 Mitsubishi though. That was just plug and play except for setting the engine size.

There are some setting that may need to be calibrated. Wait until you get yours up and running and if that area is one that you want to monitor we will work on it.

The 320d is our favourite, but we'd avoid the larger-engined petrol models.
