This pops up a LOT.
1) the turbo engine is different - has better connecting rods (among other things).
2) the engine computer and wiring harness are different for the turbo.

Bottom line - it'd be cheaper to trade in yours and buy a turbo.

^^^^^^^^ All true.

That being said, the stock 2.4 NA is turboed literally every day, it is the most popular swap for the tiny Neon.

The most important part won't be the 'hardware', but you figuring out how to tune it- If a turbo engine runs lean, the pistons will break.

There's an entire section on turboing the 2.4 on neons.org, with every possible configuration imaginable- Again- The hardware is the EZ part- as you've found there's tons of inexpensive parts out there for a very basic turbo conversion

First read the tuning- MegaSquirt forum - You'll soon lose interest!

Amen to everything said above!

There are a lot more differences between the NA and Turbo PTs than you would think. If you like to spend hours and hours, and days and days, and weeks and weeks working out in the garage, it MIGHT be an interesting project. Some people, like myself, enjoy this kind of stuff and will do it despite all the good advice above. It took me about 3 months to do the conversion on my '01 PT.

Yep.

In my way of thinking, if you want to go faster you should likely just buy another car. First-gen Hemi Chargers are fairly cheap.
